Community Engagement Coordinator
The Community Engagement Coordinator forms new community partnerships to meet the various needs of underserved populations in Health Bridges. 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a weekly 1 hour meeting with the HBLT
  • Managing the MALO pod and facilitating communication between Health Bridges and MALO
    • Schedule weekly pod meetings, coordinate attendance,  notes, tasks, group chats, and/or manage rotating facilitators
    • Provide updates to the rest of the HBLT and Health Bridges
  • Schedule a 10-15 minute 1:1 check-in with each volunteer per semester
  • Visit local community organizations to gather resources for Health Bridges patients
  • Event-Planning
    • Find resources and organizations for workshops
    • Curate trainings for Health Advocates when navigating community resources
  • Meet the health care needs of underrepresented/low-income students at the Claremont Colleges
    • Raise awareness of Medi-Cal on campus
    • Partner with student organizations
    • Acknowledge the intersections of various groups on campus and off-campus and the work they conduct.
    • Identify strategic manners of collaborating to further expand our impact.
  • Provide additional support to the HBLT and other coordinators

Qualifications
Required
  • Currently enrolled as a student at one of the Claremont Colleges*
  • Commitment to 2-6 hours per week for a minimum of 2 semesters
  • Understanding of and dedication to Health Bridges’ mission
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills, timeliness, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
  • Prior MALO pod experience
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate weekend and/or evening communications
  • Interest in long-term commitment to Health Bridges
  • Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and optimism
