The Health Bridges Pods are core components of the program that have their own goals which allows us to support the local community in a variety of ways. |
|
Hospital Task and Language Justice
Students in the Hospital Task pod volunteer to provide non-medical translational services and become certified to sign patients who’s first language is not English temporary health insurance (HPE), and other resources. Our goal is to bridge the language and knowledge gap by providing accessible resources in a multitude of languages. We partner with local hospitals like Pomona Valley Medical Center to provide these services and resources.
Community Partnerships
Our Community Partnerships pod supports community health concerns through helping provide educational and hands-on resources to the populations we serve. Our partners include MALO, Parktree Community Health Center, Joslyn Senior Center, and USC Street Medicine. Over the past year, Community Partnerships successfully hosted a speaker series–inviting trailblazers in public health to provide insight into their driving missions, research, and health topics in relation to the Inland Empire and greater Los Angeles County population.
Educational
Outreach Our Educational Outreach pod focuses on providing mental health and well-being resources to the younger communities in LA county. Many of our partners identify as first-generation, low-income, and are entering or current high school students. Currently we are in collaboration with programs such as PAYs and Uncommon Good. |
