Educational
Outreach Our educational outreach pod focuses on providing mental health and well-being resources to the younger communities in LA county. Many of them identify as first-generation, low-income, and are entering or current high school students. Currently we are in collaboration with programs such as PAYs and Uncommon Good. Educational outreach has organized and hosted a number of events in coordination with our partner programs including: -a PAYS mental health summit in which we facilitated productive dialogue about youth mental health and more broad advice about college. It gave students the space to exchange thoughts about how they deal with stress and maintain balance in their own lives. - a Values Workshop in which Health Advocates worked with groups of PAYS sophomore students to discuss their own core values and how they can further implement them into their lives. - a Test Prep & Stress Management session where we came up with ways for the PAYS juniors to maintain their wellbeing under the pressure of standardized exams like the SAT - a College 101 workshop in collaboration with Uncommon Good in which PAYS seniors and Health Advocates discussed the what living a healthy lifestyle could look like and how one should handle independence in college |
