In spring of 2021, we applied for and received a grant from Tri-City Mental Health funding the creation of a new partnership between the Pomona Academy for Youth Success (PAYS) program and Health Bridges. Though we have been able to create materials over the past summer, this is a new project for the 2021-2022 academic year, and we are excited for Health Advocates to begin designing and leading this workshop series.

Though we have been able to create materials over the past summer, this is a new project for the 2021-2022 academic year, and we are excited for Health Advocates to begin designing and leading this workshop series.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan an eight-part health workshop series for PAYS students covering three topics: public health, health insurance, and mental health.
- Work with a team to develop the curriculum, including reading materials, follow-up resources, and care packages.
- Attend PAYS sessions, meet with PAYS students, and lead workshops.
- Draft and facilitate surveys to assess student needs and feedback.
- Attend organization-wide meetings, trainings, speaker events, and community building days.
- Complete training, surveys, and reflection forms in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Required
- Currently enrolled as a student at one of the Claremont Colleges*
- Commitment to 2-4 hours per week for 2 semesters
- Understanding of and dedication to Health Bridges’ mission
- Effective oral and written communication skills, especially public speaking
- Strong organization skills, timeliness, and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Previous working experience with Health Bridges
- Familiarity with the 2021 Tri-City Mental Health grant application and/or workshop development
- Interest in public health and educational equity
- Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and optimism
